Residential units

Marlowe Units are all based within 20 minutes drive of its school and Head Office at Hartpury, some five miles North-West of the city of Gloucester. All its units are four bedded. We believe this an ideal size for a therapeutic unit; all allowing them to retain a homely, ‘family-like’ atmosphere. All Units are fully registered with Ofsted.

Wales

St David's Units are all based within 30 minutes drive of its school and Head Office located at Brawdy, between the town of Haverfordwest and the UK's smallest city St David's in Pembrokeshire. All benefit from being located on the beautiful West Wales coast. Internally they provide a warm and homely environment. Like the Marlowe Units, St David's Units are all four bedded homes. They are all registered as Children's Homes with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales CCSIW.

 

The Lawns is located in a pleasant village on the Gloucestershire & Worcestershire border, just a few minutes drive from the M5 and M50 Motorways. The Lawns is a large family bungalow in extensive and well-maintained gardens. The home is decorated and furnished in a way as to enhance a warm and homely ambiance. Each young person has a good sized bedroom of their own, as well as having access to several rooms to play, watch television, talk and receive visitors. Great emphasis is placed on high quality basic care including health, diet, self-care and clothing.

The Lawns' has an enviable record of success in helping young people quickly gain purchase over their behaviour and focus on a more positive future. This includes working closely with the young person in managing the transition between the residential and the foster care elements of ‘Safe Steps'

Foster Carers, once matched, work alongside care staff at ‘The Lawns' on a regular basis, developing relationships with the young person as well as positive strategies for managing conflict as it arises.

The Haven is a four-bedded home providing care and therapy for girls, 11-18 years with Psychological, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, as well as girls with Mild Learning Disabilities and and/or Pervasive Developmental Disorders such as Autism. ‘The Haven’ will also work with girls with Mental Health Problems.

Eastnor House is a four bedded home for both boys and girls, age 11 - 15 years (on admission). It provides a therapeutic placement option for children and young people, primarily on a medium to long-term basis. In particular Eastnor has had most success in working with children and young people with severe attachment disorders, most of whom display disturbed and disturbing behaviour. Many of the children and young people Eastnor has cared for have also had multiple placement disruptions.  

Sunbeam Gardens is a mixed, four-bedded unit, primarily for young people aged 13 - 18+. The unit has been providing care and therapy to a wide variety of young people for many years, and has an enviable record of achieving positive outcomes, particularly for young people with complex care histories and a range of psychological, emotional and mental health issues.

Oaklands is a four-bedded home providing therapeutic care for girls 11-18 years, with psychological, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Many also have developmental and learning disabilities, including pervasive developmental disorders such as Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. ‘Oaklands’ has also worked with girls with histories of mental health problems, including depression and self-injury.

Bryn-y-Mor is a four bedded home providing therapeutic Care for boys. The age range is 8-18 (with a maximum of 4 years age difference). Primarily, it offers a medium to longer-term placement option to boys who have emotional and behavioural and/or Pervasive Developmental Disorders (such as Autism or Aspergers Syndrome) and/or Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilities. Bryn-y-Mor also offers specific intervention programmes address offending behaviour and to prevent recidivism

Walton Lodge is a four-bedded therapeutic home for primarily girls, 11 - 18 years, most of whom display risk taking and vulnerable behaviour. Many of the residents have experienced periods of abuse and exploitation in their lives, some within the sex industry. Many have also experienced extreme family difficulties, absconding, placement breakdown, behavioural difficulties and substance abuse. Many display behavioural patterns, mood and social relationship styles consistent with Attachment Disorders. Most also have had a highly disrupted educational history.
